Profile

The BUSINESS CENTER, known as “EPIKENTRO”, has been founded in 1999 as an initiative of the Chamber of Lesvos, aiming to provide total services for entrepreneurship development and promote the local occupation, as well.

EPIKENTRO has been created, due to the implementation of several European projects, such as ADAPT, INTEGRA, ODYSSEIA and “Center for new entrepreneurs”.
The Center operates as a:

Center for new entrepreneurs

Mobile Business Unit (visiting the capital municipalities of the Prefecture)

Recently, due to EQUAL European Initiative, antennas formed in every municipality for entrepreneurship development

Apart from preparing proposals in European Programmes, planning and organising events, workshops, conferences, promoting ideas for business development, our primary objective and outstanding commitment for the next years is to link innovation and ICT with local production.

Last year a new department in the island of Lemnos has been created under the umbrella of NAIAS Project and works with close co-operation with the Business Center, trying to provide common services to the citizens of Lemnos island.

Furthermore, there is a close collaboration between the Center and most public and private organizations in the North Aegean Region, local bodies and institutes (for example University of Aegean, Ministry of Aegean, Co-operative Bank of Lesvos-Lemnos, Local Development Company for Lesvos Island, Regional Development Fund, Prefecture of Lesvos) in order to achieve the effective collection and dissemination of relevant information.

The Team

The team of the Business Centre consists of six consultants:

Mr. Panagiotis Labropoulos - Managing Director
He is responsible for the successful operation of the whole mechanism and the one that controls, monitors the project procedures in a strategic level.
Mrs. Kleoniki Logiou – Network and Dissemination
Her role is to inform, motivate and support members of the Chamber of Lesvos and citizens in order to manage and implement their plans.
Mrs. Zana Mirogianni – Public Relations
She is responsible for the development and implementation of the action plans in the sector of promotion and public relations.
Mrs. Maria Giokou – Information Society, Information Technology and Business
She is the web administrator, responsible for Information Society projects and promotes I. T. in the business world.
Mr. Panagiotis Pitsios – Marketing Manager
His role is to develop marketing plans and promote the productive nature of SMEs in the Prefecture of Lesvos.
Mrs. Christine Nicholakopoulou – Antenna in Lemnos Island
She works with close co-operation with the Center in order to carry out all the work for our members in Lemnos.

The Business Center is also composed by the Management Unit:

Mr. Anastasios Perimenis – Project Manager
Mrs. Mariana Mitsou – Assistant Project Manager
The Management Unit is responsible for organising, implementing and monitoring all the administration and financial procedures of all the projects that the Center is carrying out. An accountant works supportively to the Unit.
